Reserve your ticket now and be part of this unforgettable cultural celebration
This full-day cultural gathering invites guests to experience Métis traditions through stories, music, food, and hands-on learning guided by Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community artists.
The day begins with an opening ceremony and prayer from Elder Ruth Christie, grounding the experience in Truth and Reconciliation. Guests are then welcomed into small groups to rotate through interactive cultural stations:
Red River Cartworks – Help assemble a replica cart, hear its role in trade and travel, and enjoy cart rides later in the day.
Borealis Beading – Take part in a beading circle, creating your own project while learning why the Métis are known as the “Flower Beadwork People.”
Finger Weaving with Florence Beaudry – Learn traditional weaving techniques as stories and songs of the bison hunt and fur trade come to life.
Fur Trade History & Music with Georges Beaudry – Explore stories of survival, resilience, and song rooted in the Red River era.
Culinary Arts with Michel & Jenny Dupas – Discover Métis hospitality through food, stories, and recipe sharing.
Throughout the day, enjoy live Métis music, storytelling, and a welcoming community atmosphere. Guests take home a Métis flag pin, their own beading and weaving projects, and lasting memories of connection. A photo booth with costumes and props, colouring activities, and cultural handouts add to the experience.
